I’m currently UX Manager for Polaris, Shopify’s design system.
Our team is working to enable and accelerate UX quality at scale through design foundations, patterns, and tooling for thousands of Shopify engineers and designers, and the open-source community.
I also really enjoy advising startups. My primary interest is focused at the intersection of urbanism, technology, and design. How can we transform today's cities and systems into more equitable, sustainable, and livable environments?
I worked as a Principal Designer at Vox Media, where I lead design on projects for brands like The Verge, Vox, SB Nation, The Ringer, Curbed, Eater, Chicago Sun-Times, and Revolt.
For almost four years I ran my own business as a design consultant. It was one of the hardest, most rewarding experiences of my career. I learned how to talk about design through the lens of business needs, partner with stakeholders, manage multiple projects, scope work, get invoices paid on time, and more.
During this time I was fortunate to partner with many incredible companies, including Google, LinkedIn, Nike, National Geographic, Oracle, Red Bull, Target, Twitter, YouTube, and Visa.
